1. A chapter of Students for a Free Tibet UK may use the name Students for a Free Tibet when:

  • the initiators formally endorse the mission of SFT.
  • the intention of the chapter is to work with students and young people to increase the grassroots strength of SFT and carry out the organization’s mission.
  • the group agrees to the policies governing formation of a chapter.

2. After approval by the SFT UK Grassroots Coordinator, a chapter will officially exist under the name Students for a Free Tibet [University Name]. For example, Students for a Free Tibet Essex University.

3. A chapter may use SFT’s logo. University name may be added, but a chapter may not otherwise change the logo.

4. SFT Chapters must represent themselves as such in their materials, when speaking to the media, at international gatherings, etc.

5. No chapter, national office or network may formally align with any government or political party.

6. SFT chapters may not act in any way that conflicts with SFT’s mission or that harms Students for a Free Tibet, as determined by the international Board of Directors. A chapter may have it’s right to use the name and logo of Students for a Free Tibet rescinded if it is found to be operating in such a way.
