As part of SFT UK’s effort to draw attention to the courageously actions of Tibetans inside Tibet, SFT UK has joined forces with other Tibet Support Groups to campaign for the release of high profile Tibetan political prisoners and to highlight the strength of Tibetan resistance to Chinese rule. APRIL
25th – Panchen Lama’s Birthday
The Panchen Lama will be 21 years old on this day. His whereabouts remain unknown and his Beijing-appointed replacement remains in power.
JUNE
4th- Tiananmen Massacre Commemoration Day
Every year people gather everywhere to remember the victims of the Tiananmen massacre carried out by the Chinese Communist Party. Tiananmen Square protests of 1989 led mainly by students and intellectuals in and near Tiananmen Square in Beijing culminated in the deaths of hundreds of civilian protesters.
