On December 10th, Chinese dissident Liu Xiaobo was supposed to receive the Nobel Peace Prize. But he could not collect it as he is serving an 11 year sentence in China for using his right to free speech. Read more and take action>>

karma samdup URGENT: Cancun marks 1 week to support Karma SamdrupThe Cancun Climate Change Conference began on 29th November, just one week before the closing date of a European Parliament motion to free Karma Samdrup. An influential Tibetan environmentalist. Karma is serving 15 years on trumped up charges after speaking up against the devastation being caused to Tibet’s environment.

Support Karma by asking your MEP to sign the motion.

Aung San Suu Kyi waves to 001 SFT UK Welcomes the Release of Aung San Suu KyiSFT UK is delighted by the release of Burmese democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi. Her non-violent struggle for human rights is an inspiration to activists across the world and we wholeheartedly support her tremendous campaign to bring freedom to the Burmese people.

The similarities between the Burmese and Tibetan struggles are striking; both being characterised by determined peaceful resistance to tyrannical rule. We are proud to extend our full solidarity to Aung San Suu Kyi and join her call for the release of all remaining political prisoners in Burma
